What is Chiropractic?

The first step that everyone should take on a path to a healthier lifestyle is visiting a chiropractor.

Chiropractic is a healing art centered around keeping your spine balanced. This allows your inborn intelligence (Innate Intelligence) to connect fully, heal, grow and adapt to all of the stresses of life. Chiropractors help everyone live to their highest potential and maintain throughout their entire life span. Too often we have patients coming to us as the “last resort” even after multiple surgeries and thousands spent on doctors. In reality they should of come here first and at least of given us a chance to help them out before such drastic measures. Unfortunately, sometimes surgery might be the only action left but more often than not it can be avoided by maintaining a healthy spine.

Another common misconception is that you should only visit the chiropractor when you are in pain. While Chiropractic care is a great way to alleviate pain the same nerves that control pain in your body also control all the organs, cells and tissues. Dr. Amber as a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) is more concerned with how the brain, body and nerves are connecting. Although symptoms can cause many problems there is usually a bigger issue underneath the symptoms. The Spine is communication highway between your brain and your body; any imbalances can lead to DIS-EASE in the body. It is necessary to keep up with chiropractic visits to help you stay in great health and avoid injuries from even occurring.

The main principle behind chiropractic is correcting subluxations. A subluxation is when the rotation of the bones in our spine (vertebrae) causes pressure onto the nerves. This pressure can cause inflammation which can cause a myriad of problems. The subluxation also decreases the flow of life to the cell, organs and tissues associated with that nerve. We always associate chiropractors with back pain but in fact these subluxations can actually have different affects that we would never associate with back issues.

The nerves in our spine control a lot more than just our sense of touch. They are what pass the signals from our brain to all the organs in our body and it is these unconscious signals that keep us ticking without thinking about it. Whenever the nerves are being “pinched” these signals can get clouded and cause our body to not function properly.

Dr. Amber is specially trained to identify and then correct any subluxations we might have. This will keep us all in good health and allow us to live a more symptom/medicine free lifestyle and be able to enjoy every moment!
